IT’S CRUNCH TIME AS BIG-BLOCK MODIFIED DRIVERS BATTLE TO MAKE THE “FINAL FOUR” IN THE HUNT FOR THE 2021 TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

“Heroes Night” Recognizes All First Responders---Fire, Police, EMS and OME---and All Military

MIDDLETOWN, NY (August 14)……..Tension mounts as just two race meets remaining to determine the “Final Four” who will battle for the 2021 United Rentals Big-Block Modified Championship at Orange County Fair Speedway. That puts pressure on seven of the eight drivers looking to make the cut and race for the $25,000 award that goes with the title. By virtue of two previous wins in major races, only Stewart Friesen is already locked in the Final Four.

Looking for victory and the accumulating points in the first of these two race meets this Saturday, August 21 in the 30-lap Big-Block Modified feature race are 2004, 2011, and 2016 champion Tommy Meier; 2018 titlist Anthony Perrego; 2020 champion Matt Sheppard; as well as veteran drivers Billy Decker, Bob McGannon, Billy Vaninwegen, and youngster Tyler Boniface.

But they’ll also have to top 20 or more other Big-Block Modified drivers out to prove their prowess behind the wheels of their 800 horsepower race cars.

Full programs of Arkel Motors Sportsman and NAPA Northeast Parts Group Street Stocks racing complete the evening’s high-powered activities on Heroes Night sponsored by Dana Distributors of Goshen, New York, a longtime backer of racing at Orange County’s historic five-eighths-mile clay-surfaced speedway, and Goosetown Communications.

The Orange County Fair Speedway stands and unique Drive-In section are fully open. General Admission either for the stands or the Drive-In is $20 adult, $16 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. In recognition of first responders and all military and first responders, there’s a 5.00 General Admission discount with presentation of proper identification or employment. As a convenience for fans, guaranteed parking spaces in Rows D, E, and F of the Drive-In may be reserved for $15. Unsold spaces in these rows will be available at the gate on race day. The Party Deck is available at $35 per person, minimum two, maximum four per table. In the Drive-In, announcements and race calls are heard over FM 107.7. Fans may purchase tickets by calling the Speedway Office at 845-342-2573. The stands and Drive-In will open at 4:00 pm. Prepaid 2020 Season Tickets will be honored. Hot Laps at 6:00 pm, racing at 7:00 pm. The 31st Lap Tavern is open for adult beverages.

Live streaming is available for the August 21 Heroes Night. Please check the OCFS website www.orangecountyfairspeedway.net for live streaming information.

For competitors: Transponders and one-way radios are mandatory for all divisions. Fire suppression equipment is required for all open wheel divisions (Big-Block Modified, Small-Block Modified, and Sportsman,) and strongly recommended for Street Stocks. Street Stocks must have fire extinguisher. Pit passes are $25 for members, $35 non-members. Pit gate opens at 4:00pm.

Media member must request credentials prior to August 21. No requests will be honored on race day. Contact Doug Dulgarian at ddulgarian@OCFSRacing.com with your request.
